Laborer killed, 3 hurt in Cavite acetylene tank explosion

A LABORER was killed while three others were injured when an acetylene tank exploded at a construction site in Trece Martires City, Cavite.

Police chief Col. Jonathan Asnan identified the fatality as Eddie Boy Villar, a construction worker and a resident of Silang St., Bgy Osorio, Trece Martires City.

Asnan said the names of the three injured are being verified.

The explosion occurred at the PNP Command Center, Bgy. Gregorio,  Command Center Compound at 11:40 a.m. yesterday.

Villar and his fellow laborers were conducting an excavation and using acetylene to cut steel when suddenly the acetylene tank exploded.

Villar died on the spot.

The wounded construction workers were rushed to General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital (GEAMH)  in Trece Martires for treatment.
