A LANDSLIDE brought by heavy downpour on Monday buried alive five people in Malitbog, Bukidnon.
One of the victims whose body was retrieved on Tuesday was identified as Vincent Jordan Achas, 30.
Achas, along with four others, were trapped under mud and rocks following a landslide that
occurred in Bgy. San Luis, Malitbog.
The Office of the Civil Defense in Region 10 identified the other victims as Lucresio and Angelita Lauronal, a couple aged 54 and 52, respectively; Nerio Talines, 50; and Raffy Simprota, 34.
Achas was one of the two workers of the Municipal Engineering Office while the three were village residents.
Malitbog Mayor Gary Casiño said the workers, who were conducting a clearing operation, were taking a rest when the landslide happened.
