THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) against the registered owner of a motorcycle which was a subject of a public disturbance complaint in Pasig City.
In a SCO signed by LTO-National Capital Region Regional Director Roque Verzosa III, the registered owner was asked to explain why he should not be held liable for at least three violations relating to traffic rules that include unauthorized installation of accessories and improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the SCO was issued in response to a complaint sent to the LTO-NCR Office regarding a loud noise created by the motorcycle due to an accessory installed while roaming around Barangay Santolan in Pasig City.
During the verification made based on the information relayed by the complainant, the motorcycle was traced to be owned by a resident from San Mateo, Rizal.
The SCO warned the registered owner that failure to comply with the SCO, which included an order for him to appear before the LTO-NCR Office on October 16, would mean a waiver for the LTO to proceed with the legal process.
Mendoza said a copy of the SCO was already forwarded to the office of Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.
