WITH his administration’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful, clean, and fair elections for the nation’s future, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered government agencies to monitor possible digital threats to the May 12 midterm elections around the clock.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro also said the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center is closely working with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

Castro said the DICT and COMELEC collaboration and cooperation would help establish a real-time digital command and ensure honest, orderly, and peaceful elections.

“Ito ay isang real time digital command post na handang tukuyin, pigilin, at tapusin ang online misinformation and disinformation,” the Palace Press Officer said.

Castro noted that, “Kaisa ang administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., ating itataguyod ang isang halalang mapayapa, malinis at makatarungan para sa bayan para sa kinabukasan at para sa isang Bagong Pilipinas.”

For the May 12, 2025, midterm elections, the Comelec formed Task Force Katotohanan, Katapatan, at Katarungan sa Halalan (Task Force KKK sa Halalan) to monitor election threats.

The unprecedented joint DICT-COMELEC threat monitoring center will operate for two days to ensure the smooth and credible conduct of Monday’s elections.

In a briefing on Friday, Castro said the joint initiative manifests the government’s commitment to safeguard the truth.

Castro also said election watchdogs are coordinating with COMELEC to ensure the peaceful and honest conduct of the May 12 elections.

“Para sa hangaring malinis at tapat na halalan, nagsama-sama ang lahat ng election watchdogs mula sa mga pribadong organisasyon, simbahan, kabataan at iba pang sektor,” Castro said.

“Sa kanilang mahigpit na pagbabantay, matitiyak na ang bawat boto ay mabibilang nang tama, at ang bawat boses ng mga mamamayan ay maririnig,” Castro said.
Castro added that the Philippine National Police (PNP) assured the public that it is 100 percent ready for the 2025 national and local elections.

Quoting Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil, Castro said the PNP’s commitment is to serve the Filipino people, not the politicians, and continue with its duty to protect the sanctity of the vote.
