QUEZON City Mayor Joy Belmonte has officially secured her third and final term with an unprecedented 1,030,730 votes—the highest number ever garnered by any elected official in the city’s history.
In a resounding show of public trust, Belmonte vowed to make her final three years in office the most meaningful of her public service journey, promising intensified programs, transformative projects, and strengthened social services for all QCitizens.
“I assure every QCitizen that the next three years will be the best of my life as a public servant,” Mayor Belmonte said following her landslide victory in the 2025 mayoral race. “I will give everything I’ve got—my energy, my passion, my dedication—to fulfill the dreams of our people for a better, more inclusive, and more progressive Quezon City.”
Among her key priorities:
• Doubling the number of city scholars
• Increasing social pensions for solo parents, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and senior citizens
• Expanding livelihood assistance programs
• Registering all QCitizens under PhilHealth’s Konsulta Package, ensuring access to free medicines, consultations, lab tests, and hospital referrals
• Upgrading public safety infrastructure through the deployment of 3,000 additional CCTVs integrated with 7,000 units in barangays and private establishments
• Fully illuminating city roads and alleys with 65,000 operational streetlights
Mayor Belmonte also announced the full operation of the Baesa Crematorium and Columbarium, now offering free cremation services, affordable columbarium spaces, and free burials for indigent families.
Major infrastructure upgrades are also on the horizon, including:
• The redevelopment of the Quezon Memorial Circle and Amoranto Sports Complex to host large-scale events like the Palarong Pambansa
• The construction of the Novaliches Government Center in District 5, which will house a mega health center, multi-level parking, sports facilities, a children’s playground, and auditorium
• Completion of barangay halls, evacuation centers, and other local facilities across all six districts
• Construction of the Tandang Sora Hospital and annex of the Quezon City General Hospital, as well as upgrading of all health centers
• Implementation of a direct sale housing program and the award of forfeited properties to qualified occupants to address urban housing needs
• Building more parks and open spaces
“As I enter my final term, my only goal is to leave behind a Quezon City that’s more empowered, more resilient, and more compassionate,” Belmonte said.
