HUMIGIT kumulang 42,000 barangay units sa buong bansa ang sususriin ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) at kung hindi naging masigasig sa kampanya laban sa droga ay posibleng malagay ang mga ito sa kahihiyan.
Lalong sisilipin ng DILG ang mga datos ng mga drug-related cases, intelligence reports at ulat ng mga Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs).
Sinabi ni DILG Secretary Eduardo Año na layon ng kagawarang tiyakin ang implementasyon ng angkop na programa ng gobyerno laban sa paggamit at pagbebenta ng mga ipinagbabawal na gamot.
“BADACs have a critical role in the whole-of-government approach in countering the proliferation of illegal drugs in the communities.
The assessment of BADACs starting on April 1 is a necessary calibration to ensure that each BADAC is not only organized but also functioning and meeting the standard set by the national government,” ani Año.
“The Duterte administration is resolute in its anti-illegal drugs campaign down to the communities until the last day of his term, and guaranteeing BADACs are well-oiled or smoothly functioning and assessing their progress are contributory to protecting communities against illegal drugs and their perpetrators,” dagdag pa ng Kalihim.
Sa direktiba ng DILG chief, rerebisahin ng mga DILG Regional Offices (ROs) ang mga nagawa ng mga BADAC, gayundin ang nakalatag na programa ng bawat barangay unit sa saklaw ng nasasakupang rehiyon.
Sa datos ng National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO) pinakamataas ang performance rating ng mga BADAC sa Luzon kung saan nakapagtala ng 20,440 anti-drug operations.
Nasa ikalawang pwesto naman ang Visayas na mayroong 11,4134 at Mindanao na may 10,053.
