AN 18-year-old female student of Ateneo de Naga University who was reported missing last Friday was found dead and naked in a bush in Pili, Camarines Sur.
Victim Irish Mae Payonga, a senior high school student of Ateneo de Naga University, was discovered dead in a grassy lot in Bgy. Cadlan, Pili town.
She was found with no clothes and her body was covered with sacks of cement.
An 8-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl looking for scrap junks discovered Payonga’s body and reported their find to their uncle who immediately called the police.
An investigation showed Payonga left their house to attend her church’s Tabernacle Revival Night at the Pili Capitol Convention Area.
In a text message, she told her mother that she will return home by 8 p.m. on Friday.
The victim, who was not familiar with the venue, sent another text message to a friend at around 5:44 p.m. on the same day saying she was at a bus terminal on her way to attend the church activity in Pili.
On Monday, Payonga was found dead.
Police arrested a suspect in the killing of the victim. He was identified as Raymark Belleza, an 18-year-old pedicab driver, and a resident of Bgy. Cadlan, Pili municipality.
