San Fernando City, La Union —FAMILIES in Pangasinan can now count on faster and more reliable emergency response as the Department of Health (DOH)– Ilocos Region officially handed over three brand-new ambulances to the province.
Two ambulances were given to Alaminos City and Agno and one for the local government unit of Mapandan during a separate turnover ceremony held on August 30, 2025.
The ambulances, equipped with life-saving facilities, will serve as “lifelines on wheels” for communities, especially in far-flung towns where quick access to hospitals is often a challenge.
Ilocos Regional Director said that the initiative reflects the agency’s commitment to protect families through responsive health services. “Sa oras ng emergency, bawat minuto ay mahalaga. Kaya sa mga bagong ambulansyang ito, siguradong laging may tulong na agad darating.”
Representatives of Pangasinan namely, Arthur F. Celeste of the first congressional district and Maria Rachel Arenas of the 3rd Congressional District expressed their gratitude, calling the donation a timely boost for the province’s health system. “These ambulances mean faster response, more lives saved, and healthier Pangasinenses,” they said.
The three units will be used for patient transport, emergency rescue, and disaster response operations.
With this turnover, DOH Ilocos and the LGUs of Alaminos City and Mapandan reaffirm their shared goal of bringing health services closer to the people and ensuring that no community is left behind.
