RIDING-IN-TANDEM assassins on Sunday shot dead the no. 1 one municipal councilor of Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.
Slain was councilor Angelique Alexis U. Paulino, 33, of Bgy. Sto. Rosario, Sto. Domingo municipality.
Paulino or “Konsi Angge” to her supporters and a party-mate of incumbent Sto. Domingo Mayor Imee C. Llado-De Guzman at the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan party, topped the municipal council race during the 2022 local polls.
Police head Maj. Jonathan S. Romero said the killing occurred on Nueva Ecija-Pangasinan Road in Guimba, Nueva Ecija at 6:15 a.m. on Sunday.
An investigation showed the motorcycle-riding suspects overtook the victim’s car and shot her several times, causing her vehicle to ram onto a concrete electric post on the side of the road.
The female councilor sustained at least seven gunshot wounds and died on the spot.
An investigation is ongoing.
