OFW Partylist, muling tatakbo sa 2025 midterm elections

OPISYAL nang naghain ng kandidatura para sa darating na 2025 Midterm Elections ang OFW Party List, sa pangunguna ni Representative Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino, upang ipagpatuloy ang serbisyo sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) at kanilang pamilya.

“Ang ating paghain ng kandidatura ng OFW Party List para sa 2025 elections ay pagpapatuloy ng tunay na serbisyo sa ating mga OFWs at kanilang pamilya. Hitik ang ating unang termino, tuloy-tuloy ang serbisyo. Pinagkatiwalaan tayo at inihalal bilang nag-iisang Kinatawan ng OFW sector sa Kongreso at sinuklian natin ito ng tapat na serbisyo. At sa muling pagtitiwala ng ating mga kababayan, lalo ng ating mga OFWs, mananatili at magpapatuloy tayong sandigan at kakampi nila saan man sa mundo.”, sabi ni Rep. Magsino.

Sa kaniyang pagtungo sa pagpasa ng kanilang Certificate of Candidacy ay sinalubong si OFW Party List Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” ng masiglang pagbati mula sa mga tagasuporta at mga naging benepisyaryo ng mga programa ng OFW Party List. 

Nagdaos din ang supporters ng OFW Party List ng interfaith blessing na pinangunahan nina [Name of Pastor/Priest, etc/] bago ang pormal na paghain ng kandidatura ng OFW Party List. 

Sa unang termino ng OFW Party List, naghain ito ng 62 legislative measures at isa dito ay naging Republic Act No. 12021 o ang “Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers”. Ito ay isang landmark law na nagbibigay proteksyon at suporta sa ating mga marino. Kasama rin sa mga adbokasiya ng OFW Party List ang pagsulong ng Internet Voting upang mas mapadali ang proseso ng pagboto para sa mga OFWs sa iba’t ibang sulok ng mundo.

Si OFW Party List Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino ay naging co-author din ng 181 na panukala kung saan 16 dito ay naisabatas. 

“Tayo ay tinig ng ating OFWs sa Kongreso — hindi natitinag sa laban para sa kanilang karapatan at kapakanan sa loob at labas ng lehislatura. Sa patuloy nating serbisyo, hindi titigil ang ating pakikipaglaban para sa mga batas na magbibigay proteksyon sa kanila sa sari-saring mga  hamon — mula sa mga isyu ng illegal recruitment, maltreatment, at human trafficking, hanggang sa pangangailangang pangkalusugan, edukasyon, kabuhayan, at kapakanan ng kanilang mga pamilya sa Pilipinas.” ayon kay Rep. Magsino.

Sa loob ng dalawa’t kalahating taon, sinabi rin ni OFW Party List Rep. Magsino na 368 ang natulungan ng party list sa repatriation assistance, 12,425 beneficiaries sa welfare assistance, 10,016 sa medical assistance, 7,998 sa livelihood assistance, at 1,147 ang nabigyan ng scholarship assistance. Nagbigay din ang OFW Party List ng Livelihood Assistance Grant for OFWs (LAGO) sa 25 na kwalipikadong benepisyaryo noong 3rd IMPACT Awards noong Setyembre bilang pinansyal na tulong sa mga dating OFW upang matulungan silang makapagsimula ng kabuhayan o mapalago ang kanilang maliliit na negosyo sa Pilipinas.

Itinatag din ng OFW Party List ang OFW Tulong at Serbisyo Center sa Ayala Malls Manila Bay upang may mapupuntahan ang mga OFWs at kanilang pamilya sa mga assistance na kanilang kailangan. Nagdevelop din ang OFW Party List ng OFW App, isang one-stop-shop-app para sa ating mga bagong bayani at kanilang pamilya.

Sa 2025 midterm elections, muling inaasahan ng OFW Party List ang suporta ng publiko upang maipagpatuloy ang mga nasimulan ng party list mula 2022 . 

“Isa sa aking mga pinangako noon ay bibisitahin ko ang ating mga OFWs at personal silang kukumustahin  at makakapiling sa mga bansang kanilang pinagtatrabahuhan. At sa ngayon, 10 host countries na ang ating napuntahan kung saan direktang nakakausap natin ang mga OFWs pati ang mga kawani ng foreign posts natin na tumutulong sa kanila tungkol sa unique challenges ng bawat host country at mga posibleng solusyon dito. Malalim, malawak, at masalimuot ang mga hamon ng ating OFWs at nais natin patuloy silang matulungan. Masasabi ngang hitik ang ating unang termino sa serbisyo, but we’ve only just begun. Patuloy ang ating laban para matiyak na walang OFW ang mapapabayaan dahil para sa amin – OFW, ikaw ang bida!”, saad ni OFW Party List Representative Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino.
