In a press conference held at this camp yesterday, Laguna Police Provincial Director Col. Glenn Silvio, in a report to Police Regional Office 4-A Director Brig. Gen. Joint members of the Calamba City Police Station under police chief Lt. Col. Milany Martirez, together with the Regional Intelligence Division 4A, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Provincial Intelligence Unit Laguna, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Laguna, launched the entrapment in Bgy. Seized from the suspects were 30 small and big packs of shabu weighing 28 kilos and valued at P190,400,000.
“Hindi po namin inexpect na ganun kadami ang makukumpiska namin dahil mga street level indiviiduals lang po sila. Nagulat po kami na ganun pala kalaking halaga ang dala nilang droga,” said Martirez.
Silvio said the suspects admitted that they get instructions from a detainee in a detention facility where to get and deliver the illegal drugs.
Authorities, meanwhile, withheld the name of the detention center pending investigation.
Silvio thanked the support of the community in their latest accomplishment against illegal drugs.
Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11 in relation to Section 26, Article II of Republic Act 9165 were filed against the arrested suspects.
