JOINT operatives led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Central Luzon on Tuesday arrested a female claimant and seized more than P7.8 million imported shabu during a controlled delivery operation in Bgy. Queen’s Row Central, Bacoor City, Cavite.
Nabbed was Noelle Denise Az, 29, of Magdiwang Subd., Bgy. Queens Row Central, Bacoor, Cavite.
The shipment originated in London, England and arrived at the Port of Clark last September 23.
“The prohibited drugs were discovered in an imported container labeled as “BABYSOFT TOYS” but as customary, the package was subjected to a thorough physical inspection and field testing using Rigaku Progeny,” the PDEA said.
Seized from the suspect were one package containing two stuffed toys each containing three blue plastic bags of shabu weighing 1,140 grams, with an estimated street value of P7,866,000; six identification cards; and one mobile phone.
The operation was conducted by joint operatives led by PDEA-Central Luzon, Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark and the local police.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the arrested suspect.
