Camp BGen Vicente P Lim, Calamba City, Laguna— In a press conference held this morning, Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, Regional Director of Police Regional Office CALABARZON (PRO 4A), proudly reported a significant 84% Crime Clearance Efficiency across the region for the eight focus crimes—murder, homicide, physical injury, robbery, theft, carnapping, motornapping, and rape—from June 19 to July 18, 2025. This milestone coincides with his first month in office and serves as a testament to the swift and effective actions taken by PRO 4A’s law enforcement units.
PRO CALABARZON continues to intensify its campaign against crime, illegal drugs, and corruption. Over the past month alone, anti-illegal drug operations yielded ₱34.9 million worth of confiscated narcotics, leading to the arrest of 844 drug personalities, all of whom have been charged accordingly.
Efforts to bring fugitives to justice have also been fruitful, with the successful arrest of 307 Most Wanted Persons and 655 Other Wanted Persons at the national, regional, provincial, city, and municipal levels.
Meanwhile, more than 180 loose firearms were either confiscated or voluntarily surrendered as part of the intensified campaign against illegal firearms. In the continuing operations against illegal gambling, authorities seized over ₱260,000 in bet money from a total of 644 operations, leading to the arrest of 1,521 individuals and the filing of 260 cases in court.
Regional Director PBGEN Jack L. Wanky also reported the interception of ₱28 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in Cavite, underscoring PRO CALABARZON’s proactive stance against illicit trade and contraband.
Among the notable accomplishments was the arrest of the primary suspect in a bank robbery that occurred in Sta. Teresita, Batangas. The suspect was apprehended in Bulacan, where authorities recovered a blue backpack containing ₱1,201,560 in cash—believed to be proceeds from the robbery.
In another swift response, PRO CALABARZON immediately took action in a case involving a police officer who fired a weapon and intimidated a civilian. The officer has since been charged both criminally and administratively, demonstrating the regional command’s firm commitment to accountability and ethical policing.
PBGEN Wanky also issued a strong condemnation of the spread of disinformation and fake news, particularly those related to the body of a Chinese national found in Kawit, Cavite in 2022. He urged the public to remain vigilant, responsible, and to always verify information through proper authorities.
“These successes are the result of the collective efforts of our police force, in collaboration with various government agencies, and the trust and support of the public,” stated PBGEN Wanky. “PRO CALABARZON will continue to serve with dedication and professionalism. Rest assured, we are ready to respond promptly to all reports and calls for assistance through our 911 Emergency Hotline,” he added.
