PNP CHECKPOINT in Pagdalagan Outpost in San Fernando City, La Union.
San Fernando City, La Union – THE Police Regional Office 1, La Union Police Provincial Office, and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) yesterday, January 12, 2025, started enforcing the Election Gun Ban by establishing and setting up checkpoints across the region.
Motorists are encourage to support police authorities and submit themselves when being flagged down for the usual check up of licenses and motor vehicle registrations.
Under Republic Act No. 7166, carrying firearms in public is prohibited unless authorized by COMELEC.
These measures help prevent election-related violence and ensure a peaceful election.
