A POLICE officer on Monday night shot dead a man and his wife in Butuan City.
Nabbed was Senior Master Sergeant Darwin Nolasco, a member of the Dinagat Municipal Police Station.
Nolasco was accused of shooting dead Charlie Añasco, described as an agent of RCH Trading Petron, and his wife Mary Anne outside the couple’s house in Princess 1 Subdivision, Purok 6, Bgy. Villa Kananga, Butuan City.
Reports said Añasco is a local policeman too.
A CCTV footage showed the suspect as he waited for the occupants of a black Toyota Vios alight from the vehicle.
The footage showed the female victim leaving the vehicle before returning for a while as her husband was parking their car. Seconds later, the suspect went near the driver and without any provocation shot him twice before shooting the woman as she tried to come to help her husband.
A concerned citizen immediately called the police.
Responding lawmen arrested the cop-suspect who yielded the weapon he used to kill the couple.
An initial investigation showed vendetta as motive for the killing.
The accused allegedly suspected that Añasco was having an illicit relationship with his wife.
