THE Police Regional Office CALABARZON, under the leadership of the Regional Director, PBGEN Paul Kenneth T Lucas, continuously distributing financial assistance to PRO 4A personnel affected by Typhoon Carina, Thursday, July 25, 2024, held at PRO 4A Covered Court, Camp BGen Vicente P Lim, Calamba City.
As of the latest tally at 9:00 AM on July 25, 2024, the storm led to the evacuation of 16,664 families, or 54,148 individuals, from various affected barangays across the region, and an estimated 25 PRO 4A personnel were affected. These evacuees were housed in more than 189 evacuation centers set up by the local government. The typhoon left a trail of destruction, damaging homes, infrastructure, and disrupting the lives of many, including members of the police force.
The event is part of the “Damayang may Malasakit sa Kapulisan” program by the Chief of the Philippine National Police, PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, which emphasizes the importance of supporting our police officers, who are considered family, in times of need before extending help to others.
PBGEN Lucas highlighted the significance of solidarity and empathy within the police force. “Ang ating mga kapulisan ay higit pa sa mga kasamahan, sila ay maituturing nating mga kapamilya. Sa panahon ng kanilang pangangailangan dapat lagi tayong nandiyan na handang dumamay at tiyakin ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng bawat miyembro ng ating pamilya,” he said.
The financial assistance aims to offer immediate relief to the affected officers, enabling them to begin the process of recovery and rebuilding after the severe impact of Typhoon Carina.
