The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Quezon together with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) – Quezon conducted a Seminar-Training on Current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP) for the staff of the Quezon Food & Herbal Processing Center on March 15-16, 2023 at QFHPC the Processing Facility, Brgy. Talipan, Pagbilao, Quezon.
The Quezon Food and Herbal Processing Center (QFHPC) is a PGU-Quezon funded facility capable of processing various food products to augment the need of nutrition through various technologies and other commodity crops for both the PGU projects and that of the people’s organizations that the PGU is assisting. They are currently engaged as licensee of DOST-FNRI Rice Mongo Blend and Rice Mongo Curls. Along with the adoption of the complementary food technologies.
Students from Talipan National High School – Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TNHS-TVL) track was also invited as participants in the seminar-training. A total of 24 participants attended the two-day seminar-training.
Participants are mainly staff of QFHPC, students from TNHS-TVL track, and staff and officers from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist-Quezon.
The objective of the activity is to provide information on the basic principles and guidelines on Food Safety Hazards and GMP, in order to further capacitate the staff of the Quezon Food & Herbal Processing Center (QFHPC). As well as to raise awareness on cGMP among the students of Talipan National High School.
