OPERATIVES of the Police Regional Office 11 arrested the no. 4 drug trafficker in the region and seized over P300,000 worth of shabu hidden in pad paper in a buy-bust operation in Davao City.
PRO 11 director Benjamin Silo Jr. said nabbed was “high-value” target Alfredo Sastre Viñas alias “Matit.”
The official said personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 launched the sting, with the help of the San Pedro Police Station Drug Enforcement Team and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11- Davao City Office, in Purok 4, Upper Ledesma Subdivision, Bgy. 10-A, Davao City
Seized from the suspect were five plastic sachets of shabu wrapped in writing papers weighing at least 20 grams worth P320,000, and the marked money.
Charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against Viñas.
“Tayo po ay hindi titigil sa paghuli at pagpuksa sa ilegal na droga hanggang ating makamit ang ating misyon na isang drug-free at crime-free region,” Silo said as he commended his men for the successful arrest of the region’s top drug target.
