SHOTS were fired on Tuesday night at the star witness in the case of the abused maid in Occidental Mindoro.
According to Sen. Francis Tolentino, two men wearing bonnet barged in the house of alias “Dodong” in Paluan town at 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
Alias “Dodong” is the primary witness in the case of abused kasambahay Elvie Vergara in Occidental Mindoro.
The senator said alias “Dodong” was unharmed in the attack.
Tolentino said the witness is already safe and secured based on the report of Philippine National Police Regional Office Mimaropa Director Gen. Joel Doria.
“Nakipag-coordinate ako kay Gen. Joel Doria, PNP Regional Director 4B, alas-9 kagabi at secured na si Dodong,” Tolentino said.
Tolentino, chairman of the Senate Committee and Justice and Human Rights which is currently investigating Vergara’s case, condemned the apparent attempt to murder the witness.
