“Back off!”
This was the warning of Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo against drug pushers.
The message was relayed through city information officer Jay Pelayo IV after the Mabalacat police neutralized some of the suspects in the killing of two local police officers last week.
“Huwag na kayong pumasok dito dahil matindi ang direktiba ko. Since I took over as the mayor, wala ni isa ang naipakiusap sa akin regarding sa droga o sa sugal,” Garbo warned the perpetrators trying to pose a bribe in exchange of protection from the local government.
The local government unit of Mabalacat City in Pampanga has been consistent in conducting regular assemblies with its Peace and Order Council, which consists of various departments and government agencies like the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Fire Protection, barangay officials, and other local authorities.
In January, the city’s Anti-Drug Abuse Council has been awarded as one of the best Councils by the PDEA for its exemplary efforts in the performance of its duties, complementing the national government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.
