KINURPIRMA ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang nagyaring kaganapan nang salubungin ito ng isang Pilipinong taga-suporta ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa Japan na may bitibit na placard.
Nakasaad sa placard ang mga katagang “Please support VP Inday Sarah Duterte”.
Hindi naman iyon ikinagalit ni Speaker Romualdez , at kaagad na naglabas ng opisyal na pahayag at sinabi nitong , “I agree with the overseas Filipino worker who greeted me in Japan with a placard bearing a significant message. We should all support and respect the Vice President. The same respect and support that we should extend to the President and other government officials. “
