OPERATIVES on Saturday arrested a delivery rider following the confiscation of some P40,000 worth of fake cigarettes in an entrapment operation in Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
According to town police head Lt. Col. Ranny G. Casilla, the suspect was a 43-year-old Toktok courier, of Area A, Bgy. Minuyan, San Jose Del Monte City.
The sting was conducted in Bgy. Sampaloc at 5:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Seized were four boxes containing 200 reams of ASTRO cigarettes worth P40,000 and a silver gray Toyota Wigo hatchback used in the illegal operation.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines are being readied for filing in court against the suspect.
