AUTHORITIES are investigating the killing of a university professor whose body was found dumped in a river in Binmaley, Pangasinan.
Police identified the victim as Mark Lagleva, an assistant professor at the Pangasinan State University.
An investigation showed three students waiting for a tricycle on way to school found Lagleya’s body floating in Linoc Rover in Binmaley town.
The students immediately reported what they saw to the barangay officials who called the police.
The victim sustained stab wounds in the different parts of his body. His feet, head and body were tied with string and a large stone was found in his shirt.
“We would like to extend our deepest condolences and warm sympathies to the family of Sir Mark Lagleva, Assistant Professor III,” a statement posted on the PSU Lingayen Campus page said.
“Eternal rest grant unto his soul and let perpetual light shine upon him,” the post added.
Latest report said police have already a person of interest in Lagleya’s killing.
