LUCENA CITY— Police operatives on Sunday arrested two jobless men for illegal possession of fireamrs, ammunition and illegal drugs Sitio Pabo Brgy. Malinao Ilaya, Atimonan, Quezon.
Quezon police director Col. Joel Villanueva identified the arrested suspects as Ferdinand Marantal, 38, and brother Arboy Marantal, 31, both native of Castilla, Sorsogon and residents of said village.
Villlanueva said the arrest was carried out by joint police teams led by Atimoman Police Station under Major Reden Romasanta on the strength of a search warrant at around 7:00 a.m.
Romasanta said the search operation resulted to the seizure of unlicensed Taurus Cal. 45 pistol, an Armscor Cal. 9mm pistol, various assorted ammunition for said firearms, 25 grams of shabu with an street value of P170,000, and P112,000 cash.
Romasanta said the search warrant was issued based on information that Ferdinand was has been keeping an unlicensed sidearm and ammunition.”But when we conducted the raid, we also found 23 grams of shabu and P120 cash apart from the cal. 45 pistol at Ferdinand’s house.
Arboy who was sleeping at the time also yielded a cal. 9mm pistol and 2 grams of shabu”, said Romasanta.He said the operation which was joined by elements of Provincial Intellgence Unit, 2nd Quezon Provincial Mobile Force Company and Regional Intelligence Unit and was witnessed by village officials.
