3 Cavite cops, female pal nabbed in drug bust

THREE policemen and a female civilian were arrested on Wednesday in a buy-bust operation in Dasmarinas City, Cavite.

Seized during the operation were some P1.4 million worth of shabu.

A report submitted to Cavite police chief Col. Christopher Olazo identified the arrested suspects as Cpl. Christian Arjul  Dayrit Monteverde, 35; Staff Sgt. Tomas Cdelleza Dela Rea Jr., 34; Pat. Jeru Set, all assigned at the Dasmarinas City Police Station; and Jorilyn Ambrad, 22.

Joint operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 4A, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit  of the Cavite Police Provincial Office,  Dasmariñas City Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 4A, Provincial Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 4 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit 4A conducted the entrapment.

Suspects Monteverde, Dela Rea, and Ambrad were the first to be arrested in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday while Magsalin was nabbed during a follow-up operation.

Confiscated from the suspects were two knot-tied  plastic bags and one sealed plastic bag containing shabu weighing more than 205 grams worth P1,394,000.00.

Also recovered were two small pieces of plastic sachets containing two grams of shabu worth P13,600, one sling bag, a pouch, two cellular phones and the buy-bust money.

Seized from Monteverde were 16 plastic sachets and one small ziplock bag containing more than three grams of shabu worth P24,000, four cellular phones, a black wallet containing a PNP ID,  an Armscor cal..45, four pieces of magazines for cal. 45,  34 pieces of cal. .45 bullets, seven body bags, a coin purse and P2,000 in cash.

Authorities confiscated from Dela Rea his service firearm, magazine and ammunition, PNP ID,  four cellphones, various IDs and cash money amounting to P1,540.00.

Set tried to escape on a sports utility vehicle but was eventually caught in Bgy. Salitran in Dasmarinas City.

Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the arrested lawmen and their female companion.
