Urdaneta City, Pangasinan – MALACANANG has released a suspension order for one year for Mayor Julio Parayno III and Vice Mayor Jimmy Parayno of Urdaneta City in relation to Grave Misconduct and Grave Abuse of Authority in relation to the case docketed as OP-DC Case No. 22-K-090 entited “Michael Brian M. Perez vs. Mayor Julio F. Parayno and Vice Mayor Jimmy D. Parayno.
The two are suspended for office for a period of 5 months for each offense or a total of 12 months as imposed by law.
The case was due to the suspension of Barangay President and Barangay Captain of San Vicente si Michael Bryan Perez on June 15, 2022 made by Mayor Parayno.
Although Parayno lifted the indefinite suspension of Perez, the latter didn’t recognize him as Liga ng mga Barangay President during the Sangguniang Panlungsod session conducted on October 5,2022 a day after an election for new liga ng barangay president was conducted were Punong Barangay Cheryl Del Prado was elected.
The order was released on January 7, 2025 and will be serve to the office of the two city officials immediately.
