THE CIDG Biliran Provincial Field Unit together with territorial police units conducted a manhunt operation in Brgy. Smo. Rosario, Naval, Biliran that resulted in the arrest of a male accused by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for four counts of Rape under paragraph 1 Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act No. 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997), and seven counts of Lascivious conduct- violation Section 5(B) Article III of Republic Act No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
The arrest warrant was issued by Naval, Biliran court on March 16, 2023, with no recommended bail for Rape, and with PhP200,000.00 recommended bail for each count of sexual abuse in relation to Republic Act No. 7610.
A report that reached PMGEN Robert AA Morico II, the Director of CIDG, stated that the accused “Ben” male, 41 years old, resident of Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, Biliran is listed as Number 7 Regional Level- Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 8.
As backgrounder, in March 2020, the accused allegedly raped and sexually abused a 14 year old minor daughter of his house helper at his residence in Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, Biliran.
