STA. SCRUZ, LAGUNA – UNDERSCORING the need for a better workplace, newly-installed Gov. Sol Aragones issued a directive giving way for a ”non-negotiable” on-time release of salaries for capitol employees.
The governor issued the good news to the capitol personnel during her first flag-raising ceremony where she also committed to providing health hazard pay for health workers and other employees whose job entails risk.
“Public servants deserve timely compensation, fair incentives, and the respect they’ve earned,” Aragones stressed, drawing warm applause for government workers in attendance.
Aragones said she evaluated the problems and issues concerning the plight of the employees and on top of the issues raised was the perennial delay in the salaries.
Speaking in the vernacular, Aragones said: “For lowly employees relying on the day-to-day subsistence, a delay in the salary means a lot and may cause more problems,” stressing the fact that a good service from the capitol to the public should start from within.
The governor stressed that she had already made it clear to the capitol’s budget department and assured her of the prompt release of the salaries this coming payday and the paydays ahead.
Under her leadership, the Laguna governor reaffirmed her administration’s guiding principle of “Gobyernong may Solusyon,” a governance based on compassion, discipline and swift action.
She stressed that good governance can only be achieved through genuine service and effective policy reforms.
One of her immediate directives is the strict implementation of respectful and courteous behavior at the capitol, for both employees and citizens in need of assistance.
Walang lugar sa kapitolyo ang magtaray. Kung may problema, ayusin natin ito sa mahinahong paraan. Lahat tayo ay narito para magsilbi,” the governor said.
