ABOUT 250,000 Davao City residents were aided in the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair from September 3 to September 7. Tingog Partylist, along with about 190 House of Representatives members and 38 partner agencies participated in the fair, bringing a total of 57 programs to Davaoeños.
The “MindaNOW: Serbisyo Para sa Mindanao” iteration of the fair distributed about P1 billion in cash assistance and P750 million for Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) 150,000 beneficiaries. The total amount of all services reached P1.2 billion, while about P200 million worth of in-kind assistance were distributed.
“The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Davao City was an astounding success, bringing essential government services directly to the people,” Tingog Rep. Jude Acidre said. “This program allows public officials to fulfill our commitment to uplift the lives of every Filipino, especially in far flung areas where public services are often limited.
Rep. Acidre, who heads the House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs and the Deputy Majority Leader, delivered the welcome message last September 5 for the Integrated Scholarships and Incentives for the Youth (ISIP) portion of the fair. Rep. Acidre, alongside House Speaker Martin Romualdez, also spearheaded the distribution of aid package for ISIPkolars.
The flagship social amelioration program of the Marcos administration aims to bring government services nearer to the people. The fair usually involves several government agencies offering essential services like healthcare, social welfare, legal assistance, and financial aid, among others, all in one venue.
It aims to improve accessibility to public services to enhance the quality of life for Filipinos and fostering inclusiveness nationwide.The program aligns with the administration’s efforts to make government services more efficient and accessible to the public.
“While the success of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Davao City is a step forward, our work is far from over,” Rep. Acidre furthered.
“We remain committed to ensuring that every Filipino, regardless of location or circumstance, can access the services they deserve. This is just the beginning of our continued efforts to build a more inclusive and empowered nation,” he concluded.
The next fair will be on September 27 and 28 in Cavite.
