SENATOR Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa is urging voters to choose their senatorial candidates wisely and support the line-up of former President Rodrigo Duterte to prevent abuses of the government and to ensure an independent Senate.
“Kung gusto ninyo na magkakaroon kayo ng Senado na hindi hawak sa leeg, hindi hawak sa ilong ng kung sino man, hindi hawak ng Malacanang, hindi hawak ng ibang branches of government, isang Senado na independente at talagang sinusunod ang doktrina ng checks and balances na magbabantay sa mga pang-aabuso ng iba’t-ibang branches of government, wala kayong ibang gawin kundi iboto itong sampung ito, DuterTEN!” Dela Rosa said during the PDP-Laban’s miting de avance at Liwasang Bonifacio.
The reelectionist senator also warned against candidates and lawmakers who prioritize self interests and money-making over public service.
“Kung tayo’y magkakaroon ng mga mambabatas na ang iniisip ay puro bulsa lamang, goodbye, Philippines! Pero kung ayaw niyong mag-goodbye sa Pilipinas, ang solusyon diyan, itong nasa likuran ko, DuterTEN,” the former PNP chief-turned-senator said.
Dela Rosa made the appeal as he emphasized the lingering problem of corruption, criminality, and illegal drugs in the Philippines.
“Sa Lunes, pagpunta ninyo sa presinto, isipin niyo palagi. Huwag niyong isipin pagboto niyo kung sino ‘yung congressman, sino ‘yung mayor na nagbigay sa inyo ng ayuda. Kalimutan niyo ‘yon! Pera ninyo ‘yon! Ang isipin ninyo sa Lunes pagboto ninyo, ang kinabukasan ng ating bansa,” the Mindanaoan lawmaker said.
“Ang kinabukasan ng mga sumusunod na henerasyon na dapat sila ay hindi manganganib sa problema ng droga, kriminalidad at korapsyon,” he stressed.
Dela Rosa is running under the banner of PDP-Laban, a political party chaired by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The PDP-Laban line-up dubbed as DuterTEN held their miting de avance four days before the May 12 midterm polls at the Liwasang Bonifacio.
The 10-man senatorial slate is composed of incumbent lawmakers Dela Rosa, Senator Bong Go, and Sagip party-list Representative Rodante Marcoleta; lawyers Jayvee Hinlo, Jimmy Bondoc, Raul Lambino and Vic Rodriguez; physician Richard Mata; actor Philip Salvador; and Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Committed to pursue his advocacy for better public order, Dela Rosa vowed to continue being a “fighter” against illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption should he be elected to the Senate in the upcoming 2025 national and local elections.
The Mindanaoan lawmaker also committed to fight for the plight of the poor through sustainable government programs.
