CAMP VICENTE LIM, Canlubang, Laguna – – An escapee from the National Bilibid Prison who was reported missing and his body mistaken for chicken bone was recaptured in Bgy.San Isidro, Angono, Rizal.
Fugitive Michael Angelo Cataroja, 26, of Sitio Minahan Bato was reported missing since July 15.
Cataroja, who is facing carnapping charges, was rearrested in Bgy. San Isidro, Angono, Rizal, on Thursday afternoon according to .Lt. Gen. Rhoderick Armamento, Area Police Command-Southern Luzon commander.
On Thursday night, Cataroja was presented to mediamen at this camp by Armamento and Calabarzon Police Regional Director Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces .
According to Cataroja, he managed to escape from the New Bilibid Prison Maximum Security Compound on July 15 by pretending to be a visitor.
Armamento said a concerned citizen reported to the police the presence of Cataroja in the village leading to the arrest.
