JOINT operatives on Thursday arrested three suspected members of the communist terror group in a manhunt operation in Tagum, Davao del Norte.
Police Regional Office 11 director Brig.Gen. Benjamin Silo Jr. said nabbed were alleged bomb maker Victor Pagas Rollon alias “Go/Pong,” head of the Ordnance Unit of the Regional Operations Command, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee, and a resident of Mawab, Davao de Oro, with warrant of arrest for murder; Christine Joy Adorza Dula, of Bgy. Bagong Silang, Quezon City, with warrant for rebellion and insurrection; and Chargilyn Monta Casquejo, a medic of the SMRC and a resident of Monkayo, Davao de Oro, who was charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Silo said seized from Rollon were a cal. .45 pistol loaded with seven live ammunition, four mobile phones and a SIM card while recovered from Dula were two improvised explosive devices and a black notebook.
Confiscated from Casquejo were one 5.56 mm Colt pistol loaded with nine live bullets, a stethoscope, a thermometer, and a sphygmomanometer.
Members of the Tagum City Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Philippine Army 1001st Brigade conducted the operation at Purok San Roque, Bgy. La Filipina,Tagum City.
The arrested suspects were brought to the Tagum City Police Station before they were endorsed to the 1001st Brigade in Maco, Davao de Oro while the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group is preparing documents for inquest proceedings.
Silo commended the operating teams, hoping the continuous arrest and surrender of communist terror group members will eventually end the insurgency problem in Davao region.
