A COUPLE and their three children on Monday died in a fire that razed their house in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan.
Pozorrubio Bureau of Fire Protection acting fire marshal SF04 Randy Fabro identified the fatalities as Mark Villanueva, 34; his wife Dixie, 36, and their three children aged six, two and one-year-old.
The Villanuevas were trapped inside their burning house.
Fabro said the victims were found embracing each other at the attic of their home.
Five other occupants of the house survived the blaze.
Investigation showed the fire started from the garage of the Villanuevas at 12:10 a.m. on Monday.
Authorities theorized that an appliance left unplug could have started the blaze.
Responding firefighters were able to put out the fire at 2:58 a.m. on the same day.
Fire damage was placed at P9 million.
