A COLLEGE dean died while some nursing students were injured when a bus ferrying nursing students figured in a road accident on Tarlac-Pangasinan – La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Tarlac.
Police identified the fatality as Ulpiatrasinia Tuzon, the dean of the Divine World College in Bangued, Abra.
Among those injured were nursing students and a college instructor.
An investigation showed that the Partas bus driven by Joe Agudal Ecleo was traversing TPLEX when upon reaching Bgy. Poroc, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the steel barrier before turning upside down.
The bus came from Abra and was on its way to Manila when the incident happened.
The dean and the other injured passengers were brought to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, where Tuzon was declared dead on arrival.
The bus driver is now in the custody of the police facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injuries and damage to property.
