A POLICE officer earlier arrested for robbery charges tried to commit suicide inside the toilet of a police station in Cavite on Sunday.
A report submitted to the Police Regional Office 4A identified the victim as Lt. Reynaldo Afable, an active PNP member and a resident of Blk. 21, L18, Phase 1, Parklane Subdivision, Bgy. San Francisco, Gen. Trias City, Cavite.
The alleged attempted suicide occurred at 2:40 p.m. on Sunday at the Gen. Trias City Police Station in Cavite.
Afable was at the office of the Intelligence Section when he requested to use the comfort room. While inside the toilet, the suspect stabbed himself in the neck using scissors he got from the police office.
The cop suspect was rushed to the Divine Grace Medical Center for treatment. He is now in a stable condition.
Investigators said Afable is one of the suspects in a robbery on October 18 at Bella Vista Subd, Bgy. Santiago in Gen. Trias, Cavite.
