A RETIRED police officer on Monday shot dead his son during a heated fight while having drinks in their house in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan.
Suspect Enrique Galapate, 62, a retired policeman, was arrested by responding members of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station.
The victim was Galapate’s son, Erickson, 26, a security guard.
The incident took place inside the Galapate’s residence at Bllk. 3, Lot 5, Phase F1 in Francisco Homes in Bgy. Narra around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
Local police chief Lt. Col. Ronaldo Lumactod Jr. said an initial investigation showed that the suspect and his son started drinking around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. At about 3:20 a.m., the already drunken suspect called his son a “thief,” triggering a heated argument.
At the height of the qarrel, the suspect took his firearm and shot his son twice in the head, killing the victim on the spot.
Lumactod said parricide case will be filed against the accused retired cop.
