
THE Department of Health (DOH) distributed four “Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinics” to Ilocos Region which was received by the provincial governments of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan and La Union during a turn-over ceremony held at the Clark Freeport Zone on July 10, 2024.
The mobile clinics will visit various barangays in the provinces and will provide residents with free medical services including X-ray, ultrasound and blood screening.
It is equipped with an ultrasound examination light, reagent refrigerator, binocular microscope and stethoscope, ophthalmoscope, clinical centrifuge, hematocrit centrifuge, hematology analyzer, handheld electrolyte analyzer and a telemedicine set.
Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco said that these mobile clinics will provide health services in the communities, especially in GIDAs (geographically isolated and disadvantage areas). “Health services will be faster, easier, and residents will have better access to health services, considering that not rural health units (RHUs) have the needed diagnostic procedures,” she stated.
“Mas mabilis at mas madali ang pagbibigay ng health cosultations sa mga residente dahil ang mga serbisyong kanilang kailangan ay dadalhin na mismo sa kanilang mga lugar upang sila ay mapagsilbihan.”
The mobile clinic will also be used during medical missions, disasters and calamities. It will be managed by a DOH trained health personnel from the provincial health office of the recipient local government units.
The provincial government, on the other hand, will be in-charge of the vehicle and will manage the cost of maintenance and repairs and ensure that the vehicle is always in good running condition.
The distribution of the Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinics was led by the First lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa.

Among the governors present who received their mobile clinic, a Toyota Coaster 2024 model, were Ramon V. Guico III of Pangasinan and Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David of La Union.
The “Bagong Pilipinas” mobile clinics are part of the LAB for All project of the First Lady to deliver free medical services to communities to ensure that basic healthcare services are delivered to the people.
