
Bayambang, Pangasinan – After two weeks of installation, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Region 1 has already completed and opened the temporary bridge in Barangay Wawa, Bayambang, Pangasinan for traffic accomodating only light vehicles.
The temporary Bailey Bridge at Carlos P. Romulo Bridge along Camiling-Wawa-Bayambang-Malasiqui-Sta. Barbara Road, Barangay Wawa, Bayambang, Pangasinan will be a one-way traffic bridge with a five (5) tons load limit.
Drivers of light vehicles passing the bridge will conduct themselves at a 20-meters distance apart from each other for safety measure. Warning signs were also placed along the route.
DPWH advised vehicles above five (5) tons to use the following alternate route for all types of vehicles: Via Bayambang-San Carlos-Aguilar Road via Bocboc Bridge-Mangatarem, and vice versa; Via Carmen Junction-Manat Road (National Road), take Bayambang-Bautista-Alcala-Sto. Tomas-Carmen, Rosales Road)/Manila North Road (Rosales-Tarlac), and vice versa.
The Bailey Bridge will serve as a temporary bridge until the Carlos P. Romulo Bridge, which collapsed last October 21, 2022, has been completely repaired.
