NEARLY 55,000 residents across 244 barangays in Laguna have been affected by the recent typhoon and intensified southwest monsoon (habagat), based on the latest situational report as of 6:00 AM, July 26, 2025. The widespread flooding and strong winds have forced thousands of families to seek temporary shelter and disrupted daily life in many low-lying and vulnerable areas.
Laguna Governor Sol Aragones has been at the forefront of relief operations, personally visiting impacted communities to assess their needs and ensure swift government response. Through her flagship initiative, #GobernongMaySOLusyon, she reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to providing urgent aid and long-term recovery support for affected families.
In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), relief goods were distributed to families affected by the disaster. Additionally, through “Akay ni Gob”, free breakfasts, lunches, and snacks were served to evacuees and affected residents. These efforts were made possible with the support of local government units, the SOL Ladies, and numerous volunteers who worked together to ensure no one was left behind during the response.

According to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and DSWD DROMIC reports, approximately 9,540 families (around 44,000 individuals) are currently staying inside evacuation centers, while about 3,110 families (11,000 individuals) are displaced outside and are temporarily housed with relatives or in other shelters.
Despite the challenges, the spirit of bayanihan remains strong in Laguna. With continued coordination and compassion from both the government and the community, the province moves forward with hope, resilience, and the promise of recovery for every Lagunense.
