THE House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Tuesday approved House Bill (HB) 9155 on Third and Final Reading, seeking to renew for another 25 years the franchise granted to PEC Broadcasting Corporation.
The measure received 200 affirmative votes, zero negative votes and four abstentions. Iloilo Rep. Ferjenel Biron, M.D., who authored one of the bills that was consolidated to become HB 9155, said the PEC Broadcasting Corp. urgently needs the franchise to continue serving the public and to operate its television and radio stations across the country.
