MARCH 22 is a special non-working holiday in Cavite province.
The office of the President made the declaration to let people of Cavite celebrate the 154th birth anniversary of the first Philippine president, General Emilio Aguinaldo.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the province of Cavite be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin stated in Proclamation No. 176.
Aguinaldo, who was born on March 22, 1869 in Kawit town, was one of the revolutionary leaders during the Spanish occupation.
