AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested a suspected female human trafficker linked to trafficking of Filipino women to Malaysia for prostitution.
Arrested was Lorena Abao.
Abao was caught by members of the NBI-Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (SEMRO) in an operation in Digos City, Davao Del Sur.
The case stemmed from a video clip of a Filipina from Malaysia, where she was being forced to work as a sex service provider to male customers.
The NBI-SEMRO and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) immediately conducted an entrapment.
Operatives posed as job applicants seeking employment in Malaysia offered by Abao.
The joint operation led to Abao’s arrest last March 7.
