SOME P19.9 billion worth of shabu and other dangerous drugs were destroyed yesterday by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at the waste management facility in Bgy. Aguado, Trece Martires City, Cavite.
Those destroyed at the Integrated Waste Management Incorporated (IWMI) facility in Bgy. Aguado were evidence seized from various drug operations conducted by PDEA operatives, along with other government law enforcement agencies.
PDEA chairman Director General Virgilio M. Lazo led the destruction of the 3.7 tons of prohibited drugs with an estimated value of P19,965,441,929.11.
Destroyed through thermal decomposition were P18,63,029,690 worth of shabu, P36,814,442.92 marijuana, and P407,7200 worth of cocaine and other chemicals used in making illegal drugs.
According to the PDEA chief, the 3.7-ton narcotics haul was the “largest recorded quantity of dangerous drugs and controlled precursors and essential chemicals.
