Camp BGen Vicente P Lim- The Police Regional Office Calabarzon through the Acting Regional Director, PBGen Paul Kenneth Lucas is fully prepared to ensure the safety and security of the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections tomorrow, October 30, 2023.
In anticipation of the BSKE, PRO Calabarzon has taken strategic measures to guarantee a peaceful and orderly electoral process. These measures include the deployment of 9,696 police personnel who will be stationed at polling centers and critical election areas. These officers are dedicated to maintaining a secure environment, safeguarding the rights of voters, and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
Furthermore, to enhance security and bolster the efforts of PRO CALABARZON, an additional 678 troops from various other uniformed agencies have been deployed to complement the police force. This collaborative effort is geared towards maintaining a peaceful and lawful voting process.
In addition to the deployment of officers, inspections have been conducted at different checkpoints and election monitoring centers across the entire CALABARZON region along with the Simulation and Communication Exercises (SIMEX and COMMEX). These inspections are designed to ensure that all personnel are well-equipped and informed about their responsibilities during the election period.
In his message, PBGen Lucas issued a strong reminder to all police officers as he emphasized the importance of remaining apolitical during the electoral process and urged them not to engage in any partisan activities.
Meanwhile, reported incidents of violation of the Liquor Ban resulted in the arrest of 3 individuals in Pila Laguna, while 2 incidents of vote buying were reported in Balayan Batangas and Jala-Jala Rizal.
PRO CALABARZON encourages citizens to report any suspicious activity and is committed to taking swift action against those involved in illegal practices such as vote buying and the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the days leading up to and during the election.
On the implementation of Gun Ban, 287 individuals were arrested and confiscated 195 assorted firearms as a result of different police operations.
“We are on top of the situation and all systems go, however, we appeal to all residents, candidates, and stakeholders to cooperate with your law enforcement authorities and follow all election guidelines. The success of this election depends on our collective efforts. Magtulungan po tayo at magkaisa,” he said.
