THE huge 16-point surge in satisfaction rating of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez can be attributed to his successful leadership of the House of Representatives in passing the priority measures of the Marcos administration and his pro-poor programs providing cash aid to indigent Filipinos.
House Assistant Majority Leaders Zia Alonto Adiong (Lanao del Sur), Paolo Ortega (La Union), and Jil Bongalon (Ako Bicol Partylist) — all members of the “Young Guns” in Congress – congratulated Speaker Romualdez for the great leap in satisfaction ratings in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
“Ang Speaker, hindi lang po siya confined in the House of Representatives. Talagang bumababa po siya sa mga kumunidad,” Adiong said, referring to Speaker’s frequent visit to different districts all over the country because of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF).
He said that the BPSF has visited 21 provinces all over country, and Speaker Romualdez is always present in these service caravans.
Ortega said they have already congratulated the Speaker for the surge in satisfaction ratings, saying “Pinarating din po natin yung congratulations natin sa ating Speaker, and ang ganda nga po ng sagot niya samin, ‘Hindi, it’s not me, tayo ‘to, yung pagkakaisa natin.’”
For the information of everyone, nakikita naman po natin yung epekto ng bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair,” Ortega said.
“Kung hindi naman po lahat nakikita yung ginagawa ng mga iba’t ibang miyembro ng House of Representatives, naka-cascade din po sa kada local districts to, mayroon din po kaming mga kanya-kanyang ganito na mga iba’t ibang serbisyo katuwang yung mga national government agencies natin na binababa naman po sa localities, sa mga barangay, sa mga LGU and of course our provinces,” he added.
Bongalon said that under Speaker Romualdez, they have a pro-active 19th Congress.
“Imagine, ilang probinsya, ilang distrito na ang ating pong nabigyan ng mga iba’t ibang klaseng ayuda, something that we never heard, we never seen in the previous administration,” he added.
