
IN fulfilling its core advocacy of bringing government services closer to the people, Tingog Partylist, headed by Committee on Accounts Chairperson Yedda Romualdez and Deputy Majority Leader Representative Jude Avorque Acidre, officially opens a Tingog Center in the Congressional District Office Headquarters, barangay Pasig, Sara, Iloilo on April 27, 2024.
This Tingog Center in the 5th District of Iloilo, under the leadership of Cong. Boboy Tupas, will strengthen the convergence effort among stakeholders, partners, entities, and institutions that will pave the way for accessibility of programs and services to the people as a one-stop shop, intends to offer and extend various social services to the public, particularly those under the marginalized communities.
In its inaugural celebration, over 1,267 beneficiaries belonging to the transportation sector, convened in Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) – Sara Campus, and 1,080 farmers and fisherfolks in Carles,Iloilo, receive financial assistance, through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in collaboration with the Office of the House Speaker and Tingog Partylist for off-site distribution. This initiative aids their basic needs and current situation of Sara and Carles, Iloilo, which are in state of calamity due to the severe impacts of El Niño.
