AN almost naked woman who was shot dead and her body stuffed in a sack was found dumped beside the road in New Lucena, Iloilo.
Police identified the victim Jonalyn Jaranilla Sucaldito, a 41-year-old fruit vendor, of Bgy. Nabitasan, Pototan, Iloilo.
Sucaldito was only wearing a bra and an underwear when found. Her mouth was covered with a duct tape.
A paper with written words: “HAYOP!!! KA JOVAN ABANTAO AT ALYAS SUPAT!!!” was plastered on the sack.
An ambulant bread vendor found the sack around 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday and reported it to barangay tanod Jerry Suarez
According to Lucena police chief Lt. Jerson Baldevia, an initial investigation showed the victim suffered gunshot in the nose and forehead.
Also found inside the sack were five plastic sachets of suspected shabu and an identification card of Sucaldito.
Police said Abantao, a drug group leader in Iloilo City, is currently detained at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City. He has been in detention since 2015.
The 17-year-old daughter of the victim told police that her mother had no known enemies.
Authorities are investigating the gruesome murder of Sucaldito.
