A 28-year-old female Chinese national kidnapped by her compatriots in Pasay City was rescued by joint operatives in Bacoor City, Cavite.
Police Regional Office 4-A director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said rescued was Tong Wu, a data analyst from Neijiang City in Sichuan, China.
Three Chinese nationals accused of involvement in the abduction of Wu were arrested during the rescue operation at Blk. 8, Lot 45, Topaz St., Mary Homes Subdivision in Bgy. Molina, Bacoor City 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Members of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group headed by Brig. Gen. Rodolfo D. Castil Jr., the Cavite Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit under Col. Christopher F. Olazo and the Bacoor City Police Station launched the joint operation.
Wu was snatched by the suspects in SMDC Shore C2 in Pasay City before being taken to the Bacoor City safehouse by her kidnappers.
Acting on the complaint, officers raided the kidnappers’ hideout , where they rescued Wu unharmed and arrested the three suspects whose real identities were still being checked as of press time.
Recovered inside the suspects’ safehouse were one white Foton van, one cal. .45 semi-automatic pistol without serial numbers and with magazine containing five live ammunition, one cal. 40 pistol with two magazines containing 38 bullets, one 9mm pistol with two loaded magazines, one fragmentation grenade, a jungle knife, two pairs of handcuffs, six mobile phones, a MacBook laptop computer, P78,300 in different denominations, duct tapes and different identification cards.
According to Nartatez, all suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for kidnapping with serious illegal detention and violation of Republic At 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 and RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosives.
