THE Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region brought essential health services directly to the doorsteps of Barangay Talogtog, Laoac, Pangasinan on November 18, 2025, as it successfully conducted its one-day PuroKalusugan Medical Outreach Program, in partnership with the Laoac Local Government Unit (LGU) and Barangay Talogtog Council.
Residents, from various barangays namely – Casampagaan, Casanestibanan, Imanduyan, Calaoagan, Panagare, Banuar and Maraboc, received free medical services—including x-ray examinations, oral health care, and pneumococcal vaccination for senior citizens.
Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco underscored the importance of bringing healthcare closer to every Filipino, saying that no community is too far, and no Filipino should ever be left behind. “PuroKalusugan stands as our promise that quality health services will reach even the most remote barangays in the region.”
She likewise highlighted the spirit of unity that made the activity a success. “What we achieved today shows how powerful collaboration can be. When government, partners, and communities come together, we move closer to a truly ‘Healthy Pilipinas.’”
The outreach was strengthened by the support of Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC), whose team provided medical consultations, hearing and eye assessments, tooth extraction, and basic dental care.
Sydiongco also expressed heartfelt gratitude to DOH CALABARZON for its contribution of essential medical commodities and assistive devices, including wheelchairs for identified Persons with Disability (PWD) and to Mr. Benjamin Manluctao, Past 105 W 2nd Vice District Governor Lions Club International – 105 British Isles, for organizing the event.
“Our partners remind us that compassion knows no boundaries. Their generosity allows us to touch more lives and uplift the dignity of the most vulnerable,” she added.
Residents expressed appreciation for the opportunity to receive much-needed healthcare without the cost and difficulty of traveling to distant facilities.
