MAS dumami pa ang barko ng China sa West Philippine na malapit sa Kalayaan group of islands sa Palawan kahit na may pangakongg status quo ni Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Sa pulong-balitaan na inorganisa National Youth Movement of West Philippine Sea (NMYWPS) kinumpirma ng mga residente ang anila’y pananatili ng mga barko ng China hindi kalayuan sa naturang munisipalidad.

Pagtataya ng mga residenteng lumahok sa pulong balitaan, nasa layong lima hanggang walong milya lamang ang layo ng mga nakahanay na barkong hindi na anila umaalis sa kanilang pwesto.

“Abat tanaw nga lang namin,” paglalarawan ng isang residente.

Panawagan ng grupo kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., manindigan para sa karapatan at soberanya ng bansa laban sa hayagang pananakop ng China sa karagatang pasok sa 200-nautical mile radius ng Philippine exclusive economic zone (EEZ).

Hamon pa kay Marcos, tuparin ang pangako sa mga Pilipino sa kanyang talumpating binigkas sa kauna-unahan niyang State of the Nation Address (SONA) noong Hulyo ng nakalipas na taon.

Sa kanyang mensahe sa joint session ng 19th Congress, sinabi mismo ng Pangulo na hindi siya papayag na isuko maski isang metro kwadrado ng teritoryo ng PIlipinas – pangakong tatlong ulit pa niyang binigkas nitong mga nakalipas na buwan.

Samantala, hinikayat  rin ni dating Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo Mañalac na tumatayong tagapayo ng NYMWPS ang Palasyo na huwag ng palawigin pa ang kontrata ng mga kumpanyang Udenna na pag-aari ni Dennis Uy at Prime Infrastructure Capital ni Enrique Razon sa Malampaya Gas Field Project.

Paliwanag ng dating DFA official, napapanahon nang ibalik ng gobyerno sa Philippine National Oil Corporation (PNOC) ang syento-por-syentong kontrol sa Malampaya para hindi na mapunta pa kina Uy at Razon ang P100 bilyong arawang kita mula sa operasyon ng Deepwater Gas-to-Power project.

Taong 1973 nang likhain sa bisa Presidential Decree No. 87 (Oil Exploration Act of 1972) ang PNOC para pangasiwaan ang operasyon ng mga proyektong may kinalaman sa langis at enerhiya.

“By simply not renewing the contract, it deliberately places direct control of Malampaya operations in the hands of the government,” sambit ng dating Energy official.

Ani Mañalac, mabibigyan rin solusyon rin kakulangan sa pananalapi ng gobyerno kung mababawi ang kontrol sa Malampaya kung saan di umano pumapalo ng P100 milyong kita kada araw ang pinaghahatian ng Prime Infra at Udenna na kapwa mayroong 45% controlling stake.

“It will also serve to maximize earnings for the Filipino people, who are at this point,  losing billions of pesos to what we believe as unqualified private companies.”

Paliwanag pa ng dating opisyal, angkop na ipatupad ni Marcos Jr. PD 87 na nilagdaan ng kanyang yumaong ama at dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr., lalo pa’t nakasaad sa ilalim ng nasabing batas na tanging mga may kakayahang kumpanya lang ang maaaring gawaran ng kontrata.
